GDPR
Your data rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have extensive rights over your personal data. This page explains what they are and how to exercise them.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), in force since 25 May 2018, grants you broad rights over your personal data. Ooples is committed to respecting these rights and responding within the legal timeframes.
1. Right of Access
You have the right to obtain confirmation that data concerning you is being processed, and if so, to receive a copy of it along with information on its nature, purpose and processing conditions. Send your request to privacy@ooples.fr.
2. Right of Rectification
If data about you is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to request its correction. Note that most profile information (name, avatar) can be edited directly within the app settings.
3. Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten")
You may request deletion of your personal data when one of the following conditions is met: the data is no longer necessary for the purposes it was collected; you withdraw your consent; you object to processing; or the data has been unlawfully processed.
You can also delete all your data directly from the app (Settings → Erase data). For a server-side deletion request, contact privacy@ooples.fr.
4. Right to Object
You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing of your data based on legitimate interest. Ooples does not carry out any processing for commercial marketing or advertising purposes.
5. Right to Restriction of Processing
You may request restriction of processing in specific circumstances, such as when you contest the accuracy of data, when processing is unlawful but you oppose erasure, or when you have objected to processing pending verification.
6. Right to Data Portability
You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and to transmit it to another controller, where processing is based on consent or contract.
7. Right to Withdraw Consent
For processing based on your consent (such as push notifications), you may withdraw consent at any time. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. You can disable notifications in your iPhone settings (Settings → Notifications → Ooples).
8. Right to Lodge a Complaint
If you believe that the processing of your data infringes your rights, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority. In France, this is the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL):
- Website: www.cnil.fr
- Address: 3 Place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France
9. How to Exercise Your Rights
To exercise any of the rights listed above, send your request to:
- General data enquiries: privacy@ooples.fr
- Formal GDPR requests: dpo@ooples.fr
To help us process your request promptly, please include: the right you are exercising, your display name in the app, and your iPhone model and Ooples version.
