Getting started

How do I download Ooples?

Ooples is available for free on the App Store. Search for 'Ooples' or follow the download link on this page.

How do I pair two devices?

After installing Ooples on both iPhones, one user generates a QR code from the app. The other scans it. A verification code appears on both devices to confirm the connection. If your iPhones are nearby (same Wi-Fi or Bluetooth on), pairing can happen automatically.

Is Ooples only for couples?

Ooples is built for two people. You freely choose who you pair your iPhone with. The app is optimised for an exclusive, private two-person relationship.

Do I need to create an account?

You simply choose a display name and an avatar when you first open the app. No email address, no password to remember.

Features

Can I send files?

Yes. Ooples lets you send messages, photos, voice recordings and documents. All shared files are accessible from the documents list in the app.

Does the app work without an internet connection?

An internet connection is required to send and receive new messages. Previously received messages remain accessible offline, as they are stored locally on your iPhone.

Are audio or video calls available?

Ooples focuses on asynchronous messaging: messages, photos, audio and documents. Calls are not currently part of the feature set.

Security & privacy

Can Ooples read my messages?

No. Your messages are encrypted on your device before being sent. Neither Ooples nor our servers can read the content of your exchanges. Only you and your partner hold the decryption keys.

How does pairing verification work?

During pairing, a unique verification code (a sequence of digits) appears on both iPhones at the same time. Confirming that your codes match ensures no one has intercepted the connection.

Is my data shared with third parties?

No. Ooples does not sell, rent or share your data for commercial purposes. The content of your exchanges is encrypted and inaccessible to anyone outside the two of you.

My account & data

How do I delete my data?

From app settings, go to 'Erase data'. This immediately and irreversibly deletes your messages, files and encryption keys. For a server-side deletion request, contact privacy@ooples.fr.

What happens if I get a new iPhone?

Install Ooples on your new iPhone and pair again with your partner's device. Your local history won't transfer, as it is stored securely on your old device. Contact support@ooples.fr if you need help.
